In recognition of the 25 years of fruitful efforts in academic collaboration and publishing on the international arena, thus raising the profile of Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava (STU), Slovakia, Professor Zenon J. Pudlowski, WIETE Director was awarded the title of an Honorary Doctor of the STU. This highly valued award was bestowed upon Prof. Z.J. Pudlowski during the ceremony of the opening of the new academic year 2024/2025 at this University on 16 September 2024.

The bestowment was proceeded by a laudation by the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Design (FAD) at the STU, Associate Professor Branislav Puškar, who presented the recipient’s academic silhouette, achievements, as well as the benefits arising from this long-standing collaboration, which has considerably intensified since the appointment of Prof. Z.J. Pudlowski as a visiting professor to the FAD-STU in 2017.

The next day, the WIETE Directors, Prof. Z.J. Pudlowski and Mrs Dorota I. Pudlowski, took part in the official ceremony of the opening of the new academic year 2024/2025 in the Faculty of Architecture and Design (FAD-STU). It was a solemn ceremony, with a roll call of over 160 first-year students, who have come from different parts of Slovakia and some from foreign countries to study at this prestigious academic Faculty.

The speeches delivered by the gathered Faculty members were indicative of a welcoming and supportive environment in which the students will strive to become skilful and well-prepared for practice graduates.
