We are delighted to inform our readers that on Wednesday, 17 January 2024, The Senate of Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT), Gdańsk, Poland, during its session, enacted a resolution (No.434/2024/XXV) to bestow the inaugural title of Honorary Professor of Gdańsk University of Technology upon the WIETE Director, Professor Zenon J. Pudlowski. This resolution came into force on the day of its adoption.
In his message to the WIETE Director, the Rector of the GUT, Professor Dr Hab. Inż. Krzysztof Wilde, invited the awardee to collect the honour in a special session on Saturday, 22 June 2024, during the celebration of the 120th anniversary of the founding of the University to be held between 21 and 22 June 2024, under the theme University Day (Święto Uczelni). The year 2024 is also a significant year for the WIETE, which will celebrate the 15th anniversary of its funding on 16 March 2024.
The GUT as an academic institution was established in 1904, under the name the Royal Prussian Institute of Technology (Königliche Preussische Technische Hochschule), and acquired its present name in 1945 after the WWII.
