  20 February 2019

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on partnership between the Faculty of Architecture at Gdańsk University of Technology (FA-GUT), Gdańsk, Poland, and the WIETE, was the highlight of the Gala Banquet held on Wednesday, 20 February 2019. It was a memorable occasion to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the WIETE at its Annual Conference on Engineering and Technology Education, held in Bangkok, Thailand, between 18 and 22 February 2019. The signing was carried out by Prof. Lucyna Nyka, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Zenon J. Pudlowski, WIETE Director.

Under the agreement, it is envisaged that the two parties will engage in and promote research and development activities in engineering and technology education globally, and architecture and urban design education. Furthermore, the two parties mutually agreed to pursue the mission, aims and objectives of the WIETE, and expressed their desire to join forces in promoting various WIETE undertakings. High on the agenda is to organise jointly specialised gatherings of academics involved in engineering and architecture education at the tertiary level. Along this line, the FA-GUT has accepted the invitation to become a partner institution in the organisation of the 2019 Conference on Engineering and Architecture Design Education (EADE-2019), to be held at Cracow University of Technology, Kraków, Poland, between 3 and 7 June 2019. It has been decided that at this stage Prof. L. Nyka will oversee and coordinate the joint activities on behalf of the FA-GUT and will represent the Faculty on several WIETE committees.
