At the initiative of Professor Magdalena Kozień-Woźniak, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Cracow University of Technology (FA-CUT), Kraków, Poland, Professor Justyna Kobylarczyk, Vice-Dean for Science organised an interactive information session mostly for junior staff and postgraduate students. During the session, the WIETE directors introduced to the participants the two WIETE international journals focusing on the opportunities and benefits arising from publishing research outcomes in Scopus-indexed journals. Close to 20 participants took part in this activity.
The presentation shifted to article writing skills, common issues and problems when submitting an article proposal, and touched on preparing structured outlines of prospective articles for publication in WIETE journals. The issues raised included: article proposals out of scope due to the form or subject content, copyright issues, the need for proper authorship attribution, content presentation, textual, tabular and linguistic inconsistencies and errors, excessive or incomplete references, ethical issues in publishing, and others. To aid the discussion, a comprehensive publication cycle was also presented. A few questions concerning specific organisational and other issues were raised from the floor.
